makesevent is built for Hong Kong organisers, and personal data protection sits at its core. This statement explains what we collect, how it is hosted and protected, and the rights available to you under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO).
01 Data we collect
We process the registration details an organiser collects from their guests — typically name, contact details and any custom form fields the organiser defines — solely to operate that organiser's event.
02 Where data is hosted
Guest data is hosted in Hong Kong. We do not sell personal data, and access is restricted to operating the event and providing support.
03 How long we keep it
Guest data follows a defined retention schedule and is removed automatically once it is no longer required for the event, in line with PDPA data-minimisation principles.
04 Your right to erasure
Guests and organisers may request access to, correction of, or erasure of personal data. Requests are actioned promptly through the contact channel below.
05 Security
Data is protected in transit and at rest, with audit trails and anti-fraud controls applied across the platform.
